The society's committee members and what they do:
A. Charles, Treasurer
Simon Murray, Observing Group
Current activities include:
- Organise observing sessions primarily at Vallum Farm
- Answering telescope & observing queries from our members and the public
- Publicise future astronomical events. This is usually done through the NAS yahoo group
- Develop special observing events. We are currently looking at an above average Leonids meteor peak for such an event
- Update the society's observing web page
- Develop new observing sites. A newly opened area of Newburn's Riverside Park has been identified as a dark suburban observing site
